If you are in Perth, or planning a trip sometime soon, then make sure you book in a day tour with Urban Indigenous Tours.
I was lucky enough to join in on the tour recently and had an absolute blast!
We jumped on the bus in Perth and headed to our first destination – to learn about Aboriginal Art from one of Perth’s most famous artists and Aboriginal Elders, Sheila Humphries.
Sheila taught us about the Aboriginal art style, stories and symbols and also talked about her artwork in the Guinness Book of Records. Amazing! Then it was our turn to apply our newly learnt knowledge of aboriginal art and symbols, and create some art of our own.
It was then time to head to Indigenous Art for some retail therapy ![]()
Back on the bus now (rocking it out to local indigenous radio station Noongar Radio) and off to Maalinup Aboriginal Gallery.
Brenton showed us how to throw a spear, taught us some more about aboriginal art and gave a great didgeridoo performance.
We then got to try some tastie bush tucker and time for some more fun shopping.
Next stop… lunch at local Indigenous cafe. Yummy!
A quick trip on the bus to let the food settle and we turn up at Didgeridoo Breath. It’s time to learn how to play the didgeridoo. Cool!
What a great day!
No trip to Oz is complete without an Urban Indigenous day tour, we highly recommend it.
Thanks Bec for such a great experience!

Maximum tour will enhance the attraction of people towards aboriginal art.
I would like to talk about the Didgeridoo. Didgeridoo is also called as didge and it have almost 1500 year ago
history. I think it might be possible that people may use it for special announcement. Through tour you have a
good chance to play with that instrument which has 1500 years back history.
