20 to choose from, each one completely unique and boy do they play and sound awesome!
Tynon has been busy making some fine didgeridoos for us and has completed his new range. Even better news… these didges are in a much lower price range than his normal instruments.
What is so special about these didges is the completely natural external finish. You can truly see the unique characters of each tree. Many still have the bark on them!
I would like to take this opportunity to say that the 5 CD instructional set is taking my didge playing to the next level. I started about 12 years ago, but at that time there wasn't much instructional material around save for the VHS videos I was selling on my now defunct website.
I traded one of these vids for a didge made of cast resin from someone on the west coast of the US.
It plays ok but it's not the same thing as wood - there's a reason for the cost of a wood didge and the aliveness of the sound is one of those reasons. I taught myself circular breathing one weekend by locking myself in a room with the didge until I figured it out.
Unfortunately there are a lot of pieces of wood out there that are sold as didges but being able to play before you buy is often unheard of or not possible.
I've built two of my own now based on the "didjbox" design out of poplar a common wood here in the midwest US and one that I've discovered produces all the didge sounds and is very warm and alive sounding. The smaller one is 2 feet long with an acoustic length which drones G# and the longer one is 4 feet with an acoustic length which drones D, but with a drop jaw or slightly tightened lips also has a resonance slightly lower and higher than the D and at least 2 overtones that can be blown.
The first disc was awesome for me to go back and review the basics. However the techniques on Discs 2-5 have taken my playing light years beyond where I seemed to have gotten stuck 12 years ago.
The instructional style and examples are straightforward and easy to follow and have unlocked the secrets of rhythms, vocalizations and various other techniques required for really good playing.
Thanks so much for the incredible service you bring to the world in all things didgeridoo!
